2023 Kia K5 vs 2022 Kia K5

Serving Morrow, GA

The Kia K5 is a refined yet sporty mid-size sedan that may hold your full attention as you search for your next car. Introduced in 2021, the K5 incorporates premium features with smooth power and excellent handling for an impressive driving experience. With your focus on the Kia K5, you may be debating between the 2022 and 2023 model years. While these options are similar in most areas, there are key differences to remember as you make your decision.

Performance

In 2023, the base K5 LX trim has been discontinued. The new trim lineup includes the LXS, the GT-Line, the EX, and the GT. The lower three trims have a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine connected to an automatic eight-speed transmission. This system gives off 180 horsepower. The 2023 K5 GT continues to have the same powertrain system offered for 2022. This is a turbo 2.5-liter, four-cylinder, 290-horsepower unit. Its eight-speed, dual-clutch transmission is paired with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. In addition, the K5 GT has a sport-tuned suspension system and enhanced braking capabilities.

Appearance

While the façade of the Kia K5 is unchanged for 2023, a new exterior feature is available. For 2022 and 2023, the K5 is sleekly aerodynamic with curved flow from front to rear. Across the smooth side panels, contouring and a lower-body accent bar trend toward each other to produce a sense of momentum. The nose has a comprehensive version of Kia’s classic bowtie grille. It links with horizontal, three-bulb headlights. These are underscored by an electrifying, zigging ribbon of orange light. New for the 2023 versions of the EX, GT-Line, and GT trim levels are sound-reducing front windows. Carryover exterior equipment includes heated side mirrors with turning signals, a panoramic sunroof, up to 19-inch wheels, LED foglights, and more.

Features

Throughout the K5’s cabin and safety equipment, all features hold steady between the 2022 and 2023 versions for all trims. The base features in the K5 include remote and push-button start, a dual-zone climate management system, USB ports, safe-exit assist, a driver attention alert, lane keeping, forward collision sensing, a rear cross-traffic alert, an 8-inch touch display screen and wireless connections for smartphone apps. Higher K5 trims add parking sensors, a surround-view camera, rear auto braking, a Bose sound system, simulated leather upholstery, and more.
