All 2023 Sportage trims get a boost from a 187-horsepower, four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Most of the Sportage's trims come with the option of either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. However, all-wheel drive is standard for select trims. The 2023 Sorento, on the other hand, has two powertrain systems. The lower trims benefit from a 191-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. Upper trims draw 281 horsepower from a turbocharged variant of the four-cylinder engine. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid variations are available for both vehicles as separate models.

Appearance

The Sportage has standout styling with a dramatic descent through the roof and a sharp design on the nose. A black bowtie grille is accented with a metallic bar, and this grille connects with diamond-like headlights. On the headlights' interior sides, an angled light ribbon makes a strong statement. The Sportage's sides show arched molding and a smoothly defined section on the door panels that rises over the rear wheels. The 2023 Kia Sorento expresses its confidence with its tall profile. The sides have level molding on the lower panels and a horizontal line running across the midsection. The headlights show off three bulbs set at an angle, which are supported by a bent LED light bar. The grille connects to the headlights and sits over a well-designed bumper with tall, thin air vents.

Kia has equipped the Sportage and the Sorento with a solid combination of features, including many shared features. Both may be available with a heated steering wheel, auto braking, synthetic leather, a heated steering wheel, parking sensors, a surround-view camera, highway driving assist, a hands-free liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, smart device app connections, a navigation system, Kia Connect, a wireless phone charger, and other gear.
